DNR conservation officers using dogs to detect zebra mussels

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will be using three zebra mussel-sniffing K-9 teams for the first time this year to help combat the spread of aquatic invasive species (AIS). Kabetogama Ice Fishing Report 2/15/2012

Ice fishing is still pretty good. Snowmobiling Accident Results In Fatality

Authorities say the snowmobiler who died after his machine crashed into a tree in northeastern Minnesota was from Iowa. The Duluth News Tribune reports 45-year-old Timothy James Schultz of Cedar Rapids died from head trauma after Saturday’s accident near Orr. The crash happened shortly before 6:30 p.m. on the Bill Morgan Trail. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.… (more…)

Kabetogama Woman Hurt in Snowmobile Crash

A Lake Kabetogama woman was seriously injured when her snowmobile struck a tree in northern St. Louis County on Monday.
